We've had a glorious week here at sunny Coldingham Bay and just round the corner at St Abbs we had our regular Friday producers market, loads of tourists wanting a taste of the Borders to enjoy! photo copyright Jennie Howes 2013 Here's some yarn which I spun and dyed this week and sent out to the lovely Yorkshire seaside to made into baskets! The grey is a humbug Jacob and the golden yellow is a blend of white Corriedale and humbug Bluefaced Leicester. and finally, I'll be at Kelso Farmers' Market tomorrow. Next Thursday in Coldstream for the "pop-up" St Abbs market - we go on tour en masse and take our lovely market to other venues in the Scottish Borders - if you can't get to us, we can come to you!

Well that was fun! Woolfest 2013 was wonderful. The whole event was so well organised and so full of wolly wonderfulness that most people were wandering around with their bottom jaws somewhere around their knees! I managed to have a quick look around at what was on sale and managed to buy myself some new bobbins for my spinning wheel, some lovely Wensleydale fleece to make a seat cover for my spinning stool from Shelagh and John at West End Farm. The fleece is stunning and I can't wait to dye it and sit on it! I also bagged myself some Qiviut fibres from one of the musk-ox at the Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland and which I got from Hedgehog Equipment. I can't wait to see how it spins up. And that was it, apart from saying hello to people I've met over the last year or so. Lovely memories though...and the bears are always willing to give a helping paw on the stand! Then Sunday 28th July at the Eyemouth Herring Queen Festival at Eymouth. And then I'm going to put my feet up for a couple of days! |
JennieI've been knitting and designing for a long time and don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon. The inspiration just keeps coming, there is always a new technique to learn, a new yarn to try out and so many knitters out there in the world sharing their tips and secrets that it's sometimes hard to know what to do next.
