Knitting patterns
I have been inspired to create these designs by many things, the fabulous and colourful butterflies, beetles, bees, birds and abundant flowers living and growing in our garden and beyond, from the rich colours of the landscape - hills and mountains, fells, moorland, rivers, lakes and seas of the UK and France.
The shapes are directed by the yarns themselves in all their myriad colours and textures, they seem to know what they want to be, if a particular yarn wants to be a hat, no matter how many times I start knitting anything else with it, it won't be happy and I have to keep unravelling it, until I find the right shape - .you have to learn how to listen to your yarns you know....
There are patterns for all kinds of things, accessories such as hats, scarves, mittens & bags, jumpers, cardigans & waistcoats, shawls, throws & cushions. Some designs are knitted, others knitted and then felted for a completely different finish. I love designing for seamless knitting and most patterns are created with this technique in mind. If you are new to this method I can heartily recommend having a try, it's lovely to make something and see it develop and emerge complete from your needles. I also love knitting moebius style, if you haven't tried it or haven't even heard of it, do a little websearch and see the amazing story of the moebius, then come back and try and knit a scarf, shawl, bag or basket - take care, it is addictive, but in a really good way!
All patterns shown in the gallery here are available as pdf downloads, you will find out more about each pattern by clicking on the photo, you will be transferred to my Ravelry pages where you can buy and download the patterns straightaway. If you want to buy the pattern and the yarn as well, go through to the skybluepink-designs knitting kits page and see what's up for sale there.

Tweed caps
All caps are made in pure new wool, no stiffeners are used in the brims, so you can fold and put in a pocket without spoiling them. Skybluepink is knitted and felted.
Shetland collection
All patterns are created using Shetland Spindrift pure new wool. All are knitted and then felted.
Moondance designs
These patterns were created using Moondance Shetland wool produced by Margie Robinson's flock of Shetland sheep in the Scottish Borders. Her yarns are incredibly soft and the natural tones work so well together. Some designs are knitted, others knitted and felted.
Recycled silk, recycled sari silk, recycled silk & banana fibre yarns
These designs are all created using recycled yarns, hand spun by women's co-operatives in southern India, using the discarded waste materials from the silk fabric/sari weaving mills.
Herdwick, Swaledale and other British breed sheep wools
Patterns using British wools, using both natural tones and plant dyed yarns, and other dyed yarns depending on availability.
