I had a great time this week on my weaving course with Janis at Flight Weaving. Spent the first day learning about warps and wefts, bits of the loom and how to cut and thread the loom with the warp. Then got to do a bit of weaving at the end of day one. Day two was totally occupied with weaving and wow do you have to concentrate! I made a sampler to Janis's recipe with lots of different twill and herringbone patterns. Here's a shot of it in progress on the loom and below are some shots of the piece after completion, ready for finishing. I've got to do the tassles at the ends, sew in all the loose ends and then give it a good wash, so I'll post another photograph of it all clean and tidy! I've bought the loom and will spend more time improving my techniques. Janis teaches in her studio, so use the link above to get in touch with her - highly recommended!
