Even shorter note!

This post  is really short and I'm sorry there aren't many photos going up on my blog lately.  The camera doesn't come out much, I'm usually too busy talking with people at events to take photos and then I remember when it's all over - yes, every time!  This is the local boy in Etal village where we were this weekend.  Lovely flowing mane - a bit of the Rod Stewart-aging-rocker-look-alike we thought!

After a busy weekend with 3 events, I just got a phone call from the organisers of Woolfest to let me know that I have a stall this year.  So I'm going to be really busy spinning and dyeing lots of lovely wool.  On the wheel at the moment is some fine Herdwick 2 ply which I'm going to dye later this week.  Then I've got some more Herdwick which I shall just spin and leave the natural dark grey, so that it can be worked in with the coloured yarns.  Then it's Swaledale up for spinning and who knows what else I'll get around to!  I've also ordered lots of buttons, so that I'll have a great selection for everyone over the weekend.  Please check the Woolfest website to see what a wonderful event it is.  See you there.
P.S.  If you want any specific yarns spinning and want to collect at Woolfest, drop me a line using the contact form and I'll see if I can do it!

v. short note...

23/5/2013

Another month goes by... we have now moved to the coast, but we are still living out of boxes...

A busy weekend of events ahead, tomorrow I'll be at the St Abbs Ebba Centre for the local producers market, where amongst other things you will be able to buy: organic breads, cakes and preserves; locally caught, fresh and smoked fishes; locally reared and cured rare breed charcuterie items; lots of craft stuff including patchwork supplies, felting and other needlecraft supplies; my handspun yarns, wooden buttons, knitting needles and crochet hooks.  And I know there will be other folk there selling their wares.  As I said, it's in the Ebba Centre at St Abbs between 10am and 4pm every Friday between April and October.  I'll get links from the other stall holders and post them here.

On Saturday it's the regular slot at Kelso farmers market between 9am and 2pm, always great fun and loads of really high quality locally produced food and other produce available.

On Monday as it's a bank holiday, I'll be having a stand at the Etal Craft Fair (click coloured text to go to the website) in the Village Hall.  There will be a steam train on the Heatherslaw Light Railway stopping at the station during the day.  It's free to get in and there will be a good range of locally produced arts and crafts on sale.

I'm just off to spin some more wool....

I've been knitting and designing for a long time and don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon.  The inspiration just keeps coming, there is always a new technique to learn, a new yarn to try out and so many knitters out there in the world sharing their tips and secrets that it's sometimes hard to know what to do next.
