Woolly tales

22/4/2013

Just a quick reminder that the Woolly Tales event is taking place on Saturday 27th April between 10am and 4pm at the Northumberland Hall in Alnwick.   It's free to get in and there are refreshments available - I've been told cake is on the menu again..... There is a list of exhibitors in a previous post and a link to the sheeptales website too so that you can see who's going and what it's all about.

For the event, I've been busy spinning and dyeing more yarns including some local Cheviot and Teeswater wools and some lovely bright merino yarns as well.  I've had a complete re-stock on the buttons and have over 200 different wooden buttons available - something for everyone.

We are in the process of moving house (again...) this time we are going to the seaside - oh we really really do like to be beside the sea and have been lucky enough to find a house needing a little tlc which we are quite prepared to lavish upon it, so come next week we should be ready to paddle and build sandcastles!  Just in time for summer (ever hopeful)...

I'll also be having a stand at the Heavy Horse Festival at Milfield, Wooler on Sunday 5th May.  Click on the coloured text above to go through to their website for more information.  I think it's going to be a great event and am really looking forward to seeing those wonderful horses in action.

For both these events I will be taking my camera and hopefully get time to snap one or two photos, which I will post here as soon as...

The bear kits are ready!

I have put up some teddy bear knitting kits on a new page - please take a look.  The kits include yarn, pattern and stuffing - more details on the page!  I hope you like them.

I am busy spinning yarn ready for the next big event - that's on the 27th April at the Northumberland Hall in Alnwick - the Woolly Tales event organised with the Sheep Tales project - there will be lots of independent designers and producers of all things woolly - some exhibitors are listed below - there are others, I just have to get the contact details, so please come and have another look soon!

I will also be at a new venue this coming Saturday, the 6th April - a country market at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose - with stalls selling a variety of things, from goose eggs, local cheeses and preserves, home grown meat, fresh fruit and veg and of course my knitting yarns and other lovely things.  It's a small affair but the more folk that come along to see what's what, the better it will get.  Lots of parking available free, so come along between 10am and 4pm on the first Saturday of every month.

My yarns are now being sold at the Kraftworks gallery in Kelso, so if you don't come and see me directly, call there and say hello to Michelle!

I've also re-stocked with buttons and will be uploading photos of the new designs later this week (I hope!).

I have lots of yarns available that I haven't got up for sale on the yarn page yet, so if you are in the area and want to visit, then please get in touch using the contact form and arrange to come and see me in my studio.

I've been knitting and designing for a long time and don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon.  The inspiration just keeps coming, there is always a new technique to learn, a new yarn to try out and so many knitters out there in the world sharing their tips and secrets that it's sometimes hard to know what to do next.
