almost half way through April already...

11/4/2014

Here we are, 10th April, the garden full of daffs and tulips, the snowdrops all gone over, the flowers on the wild garlic in the woodland just about budding - the leaves are lovely in a sandwich with some tangy cheese....
I've managed to find the time this week to thread up my loom with a warp, so will now make time to do some weaving over the next month or two, I've a few workshops to sort out for the St Abbs Woolscape Project and some new stuff to create for same.... but to my whereabouts for the month!
We had a great opening day at the St Abbs Friday Market today with plenty of visitors on a lovely sunny and mild day.
Tomorrow, Sat 12th April we will be in the Butter market at Berwick upon Tweed between 9am and 4pm, good fine weather forecast, if a little windy!
Next Wednesday will see us back in the Buttermarket as the Easter break is upon us and the town full of holiday makers.
Friday and Saturday - the 19th and 20th April between 10am and 4pm we are back at St Abbs again - this week we will be so numerous as stall holders, we will be using both the Ebba Centre and the Visitor Centre, so come along and pick up some locally made goodies - both the eating kind and the gifty-nice-can't-do-without kind!
Then it's back to the regular Friday St Abbs and Saturday Berwick upon Tweed the following weekend, ho hum - must find some time to spin to replenish my dwindling stocks....

Short notice diary dates - and a change of plan!

A note to anyone in Cumbria (and anyone else of course!) short of something to do on Sunday 6th April - I'll be at the Knitting and Stitching show at the Rheged Centre near Penrith, from 10am to 4pm, free entry and lots to do, see and buy.

So I won't be in Berwick upon Tweed this weekend as we are taking the opportunity to visit family in Lancashire and take my mum out to her fave restaurant for a treat - it's also my fave restaurant as well, so we all end up happy!

I was going to attend the Milfield Heavy Horse Festival on the 4th May, but an event has come up which ties in really nicely with the St Abbs Woolscape Project so we are going to be at the Kailzie Wildlife Festival near Peebles in the Scottish Borders on Sunday 4th May between 10am and 5pm.  Come along and see what's happening - why not get involved with our Woolscape Project?

...and finally, the St Abbs Friday Market is due to start on the 11th April at the Ebba Centre, we are looking forward to meeting up again with all our regulars.  The cafe will be open too - the cakes are homemade and very tasty....

I've been knitting and designing for a long time and don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon.  The inspiration just keeps coming, there is always a new technique to learn, a new yarn to try out and so many knitters out there in the world sharing their tips and secrets that it's sometimes hard to know what to do next.
