August

30/7/2014

Time to put up the diary for the coming month - they just seem to flying by this year.

As usual, just click on the coloured text to go to the event websites.

Starting with this coming Friday, the 1st August between 10am and 4pm we are at the regular St Abbs market at the Ebba Centre, come and join us for a cuppa in the Old School cafe and take a walk around the harbour.  We have had sightings of dolpins, porpoise and minke whales during July, so maybe you'll get lucky and see some fins!

Each Thursday in August (and probably September too - watch the next post for more info) I will be holding workshops in the Visitor Centre at St Abbs to create more birds, beasties and plant life for the St Abbs Woolscape Project.  Check for more information and to book a place on the Visitor Centre link.

Our next outing is again at the St Abbs market on Friday the 8th August.

Then we will be in the Craft marquee at the North Berwick Highland Games on Saturday 9th August between 9am and at least 5pm - I say this because there will be an amazing 96 pipe bands competing this year at the event - last year the finale was rousing - all the bands play together at the end of the day - fantastic!

On Saturday 16th August we are going to a new event for us.  We are off to the Edinburgh Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers open day at Broughton Village Hall, Broughton Village near Biggar (south west of Edinburgh).  Visit the website for more information on what's going on!

Friday 22nd August it's back to St Abbs for our regular market.

Then it's bank holiday Monday the 25th (at least in England!) and we are demonstrating in the craft marquee at the Glendale Show in Wooler, Northumberland.

Friday 29th is St Abbs again.

Our last day out is on Sunday 31st August at the Horsley Wool Fair celebrating all that's great about British wool.

Now you will notice there are no dates for Berwick Butter market in the list at the moment, but I will be making at least two visits to Berwick during August - I've just got to decide when I'll be there!  It may be on Wednesday or one of the two free Saturdays...

I've been knitting and designing for a long time and don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon.  The inspiration just keeps coming, there is always a new technique to learn, a new yarn to try out and so many knitters out there in the world sharing their tips and secrets that it's sometimes hard to know what to do next.
