Our first event will be our very own St Abbs Wool Festival on Saturday 28th February between 10am and 4pm in St Abbs. It's going to be a super show with lots of local crafts people around, a competition with a hamper full of goodies to win and a Grand Bazaar of special offers from the stall holders which are just especially for the show, so come along and grab a bargain or two! I will be having a big sale on my ready made garments and accessories - up to 50% off some items, plus bargains on buttons and notions - see you all there!
First date in March is Wednesday 18th at the Volunteer Hall in Duns for the regular Food and Craft market - a local event but well attended and lots of goodies on offer, plus a cafe in the hall with good home baking and soup.
Then it's off to the craft fair at the Bailiffgate Museum in Alnwick on Saturday the 21st March between 9.30 and noon - an early start but leaving the afternoon for a walk around the town or down to the coast at Alnmouth....
We're starting slowly and building up to a big tour later in Spring!
April sees us start the new trading year at St Abbs in the Ebba Centre for the weekly Friday market, so we start on Good Friday and Easter Saturday and go right through to Christmas - that's right, every Friday between 10am and 4pm. There are lots of local makers and producers selling their wares in the beautiful little harbour village of St Abbs, it's well worth a trip out, there are walks around the cliff tops and harbour, along the coast path to the beach at Coldingham Sands or to Eyemouth, plenty cafes for refreshments - and of course, the sun always shines!
On the 12th April it's off to the west coast and Cumbria - the Rheged Centre at Penrith for the Knitting and Stitching Show. There's also an exhibition of photographs of the iconic Herdwick sheep in the gallery there, so two great reasons to visit!
Later in the year we'll be off to Dingwall for the Highland Wool Festival at the end of May, then in June it's the craft tent at the Heavy Horse Festival at Etal, then Woolfest at Cockermouth in June (yaaay!), the British Wool Show at the auction mart in York in August (yaaay again!), the Glendale Show at Wooler also in August, then (hopefully - the invites haven't been issued yet...) at Yarndale in September, definitely at The Kendal Wool Gathering in October..... more news of all these events later!
If you can't get to see us in person and you fancy some yarn or fibres, then please do get in touch using the contact form here and we'll see what we can do!
Or if you are part of a group or guild and want a trunk show get in touch and if I'm free I can bring my mobile shop with me - I love an adventure and an excuse to get out and see somewhere new!
